Victoria East and West high schools’ Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters recently concluded their Livestock Show season. Across the last three weeks, both schools saw a number of students place in multiple shows. 

San Antonio Livestock Show Results

Kyndall Hopper, junior, VWHS: Junior Gilt Show, seventh place out of 39; Open Gilt Show, third place out of 25; San Antonio Calf Scramble, caught a calf and received a $1200 certificate to purchase a breeding animal project.

Kaylie Huth, sophomore, VEHS: Junior Commercial Ewe Show, exhibited.

Caleb Korczynski, senior, VEHS: Junior Market Broiler Show, 16th place.Vic

Jenny Marbach, senior, VWHS: Junior Breeding Heifers Show, 12th place.

Carson Raab, sophomore, VEHS: Junior Breeding Heifers Show, exhibited.

Korgen Ramiez, fourth grade, Mission Valley Elementary: Junior Breeding Heifers Show, sixth place.

Kaden Ramirez, senior, VWHS: Junior Breeding Heifers Show, fourth place.

Blake Thigpen, sophomore, VWHS: Junior Breeding Heifers Show, ninth place.

VEHS’ Junior Agricultural Mechanics Team, consisting of Trace Monse, senior, and Khyler Reed, junior, exhibited a Deer Blind they constructed.

VWHS’ Floriculture Team, consisting of Nevaeh Dugas and Taylor Hamrick, ninth grade, and Karli Evans, sophomore, placed 77th.

Macey Thigpen: third grade, Aloe Elementary School: Swine, fifth place.

Emily Wall, junior, VEHS: Light Weight Lambs, seventh in class.

Landon Weber, sophomore, VEHS: Medium Weight Goat, exhibited.

VEHS’ team of Monse and Reed, exhibited their Deer Blind and won first place in the Metal Division for the Ag Mechanics Projects.

VEHS’ team of Cooper Kliem, junior, and Wall, exhibited their Chicken Coop and won Reserve Grand Champion for the Ag Mechanics Projects.

VWHS’ team of Karson Holly, senior, James Garza, junior, and Daniel Ochoa won second place with their BBQ pit in the Ag Mechanics Projects.

VWHS’ Jarrett Cleaver won third place with his Water Trough Bench in the Ag Mechanics Projects.

VWHS’ team of Nick Cantu, Gavin Johnston, Kailey Sheffel and Zach Zamykal won fourth place with their Picnic Table in the Ag Mechanics Projects.

VEHS and VWHS also worked together to host a petting zoo.

Students also competed in the Houston Livestock Show.
