As the first day of school approaches, Victoria ISD is inviting students and families to attend a series of back-to-school events designed to help students feel confident, connected, and ready for a successful school year. From incoming Pre-kindergarteners to new high school students, each event provides an opportunity to become familiar with campus staff, classrooms, and school expectations before classes begin.
Fish Camp
Thursday, August 6, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Victoria East and West High Schools
Incoming freshmen and new high school students are encouraged to attend Fish Camp, a fun and informative orientation designed to ease the transition into high school. Students will explore their campus, meet administrators, teachers, and student leaders, learn about clubs, organizations, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities, and become familiar with campus procedures before the first day of school.
6th Grade & New Student Orientation
Monday, August 10, 3 to 4 p.m.
All Middle Schools
Students entering sixth grade, along with any new middle school students, are invited to attend orientation at their home campus. During the event, students will meet campus administrators and staff, receive important back-to-school information, explore opportunities for clubs and extracurricular activities, and become familiar with schedules and campus expectations.
Froggy Camp
Monday, August 10, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
All Victoria ISD Elementary Campuses
Early Childhood Center at F.W. Gross: 4 to 5 p.m.
Starting Pre-kindergarten is an exciting milestone, and Froggy Camp helps make that first step a little easier. Designed specifically for incoming kindergarten students and their families, Froggy Camp gives students an opportunity to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, explore their campus, and begin making connections with future classmates before school begins.
Families will also receive helpful information about the school year while students participate in fun, age-appropriate activities that help build excitement and confidence for the first day of school.
Sneak Peek
Monday, August 10, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
All Elementary Campuses
All elementary students and their families are invited to attend Elementary Sneak Peek. This event gives students in kindergarten through fifth grade the opportunity to meet their teachers, locate their classrooms, reconnect with friends, and become familiar with their campus before the first day of school.
Whether students are returning to a familiar campus or attending a new school, Sneak Peek offers families a chance to ask questions and start the school year feeling prepared.
Victoria ISD encourages all families to attend these events to help students begin the school year with confidence. The first day of school for Victoria ISD students is Wednesday, August 12.
