Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes an exciting opportunity for Victoria Independent School District (VISD) parents and students. We're thrilled to announce the return of the "LEVEL UP" academic and enrichment camp.
As part of the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) Additional Days School Year (ADSY) initiative, this marks the third consecutive summer that VISD's Office of Strategic Planning and School Improvement will host this enriching program.
Academic Excellence Meets Adventure
The "LEVEL UP" summer camp will run from May 30 to June 28, 2024, Monday through Friday, offering a comprehensive educational and enrichment experience. Each day will kick off with a nutritious breakfast at 7:45 a.m., followed by a day filled with exciting instruction and activities from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This unique camp is designed to provide students with three hours of dedicated reading and math instruction, empowering them with the skills they need for a successful academic journey. But it doesn't stop there; "LEVEL UP" also offers three hours of engaging enrichment activities that cater to various interests and passions, helping students explore their potential within the VISD community.
A World of Enrichment Awaits
This year, "LEVEL UP" presents an array of nine exciting enrichment options, including the Movement Lab, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), board games, arts, and reading and math instruction to reinforce foundational skills. The program is open to all current VISD prekindergarten through fifth-grade students, and the best part? There is absolutely no cost to parents for participation. For eligible students, transportation will also be provided, ensuring accessibility for all.

Imagine the impact of five weeks of dedicated learning and enrichment. Students that attended last year’s camp saw notable progress in their reading and math comprehension, showing an average increase of 10% in reading fluency and 13% in math fluency. The "LEVEL UP" summer camp 2024 promises to be an unforgettable experience, running Monday through Friday from June 1st to June 30th. FREE breakfast will be offered at 8 a.m., followed by instruction from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. And remember, it's all free of charge.
